Sunday Sept. 18th, 1-0 Packers @ 1-0 Browns

Packers win with just 24 seconds remaining on the scoreboard! The first half was a real defensive struggle as neither ball club could move the football. Thirteen total sacks in the game, 8 by Cleveland and 5 by Green Bay. Quarter three the Browns final scored on a 48 yard screen pass to Leroy Kelly. The quarter ended with the Packers retaking the lead on a Don Chandler 32yd field goal.

Quarter four turned out to be a wild one. First Packers Jim Taylor punched one into the endzone from 6yds out to make it 16 to 7 Packers. Lou Groza booted a 21 yarder to draw the Browns to within six points with under five minutes to play. Cleveland was still down by six as we headed into the two minute warning. Frank Ryan went deep to Gary Collins and connected for a 70 yard touchdown strike, leaving Bart Star just 1:30 to come up with a miracle.

Bart Star did not disappoint Packer fans. He drove the Packers down the field getting Green Bay into striking distance. Star found Carroll Dale for a 36 yard touchdown and the Packers get out of Cleveland with a close one, but a win is a win.
