Sunday Oct 9th, 3-1 Rams @ 1-2-1 Lions

Dick Bass and the Rams running game pounded Detroit this afternoon

Los Angeles Rams travel to Detroit this week looking for a road win to keep pace with the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings in the Western Division. The Rams are currently 3-1, which is exactly their record coming into the ball game. The Lions are 1-2-1, they where 2-2, so my replay has them both pretty close to their actual records at this point in the season. Los Angeles won the game 14 to 7 so it’s a tossup here in the replay.

Roman Gabriel and the Rams offense dominated the Lions defense. Gabriel was rock solid throwing for 12 yards completing 14 of 25 with a 56% passer rating. Gabriel’s counterpart Milt Plum was less than efficient tossing three interceptions on the afternoon, all three picks came at the hands of Maxie Baughan.  No passing touchdowns in the game as the Rams running game was just overpowering for Detroit racking up 137 yards and punching the ball into the end zone twice.

Los Angeles is just one game back from the Vikings and the race for the Western Division just got a little tighter. The final score is Rams 23 Lions 10 but the Lions score at the very end of the game when all the backups were in, Los Angeles ran the table on the Lions.

Actual Score: Los Angeles 14 at Detroit 7
APBA Replay Score: Los Angeles 23 at Detroit 10
