Atlanta gets the football to start the 2nd half of play and right out of the gate Randy Johnson hits on a big play for the home crowd: Randy Johnson throws short … Alex Hawkins has it at the Atlanta 47 … leaps a tackle … gaining speed … … still going … and pulled down at the Dallas 21 … a gain of 40 yards … a new set of downs … as it’s 1st and 10 from the Dallas 21. The Falcons come up empty after the big play with a missed field goal: From the 21 … the football will be spotted at the Dallas 28 yard line and the Falcons are looking at a 28 yard field goal attempt … … … and here’s Lou Kirouac with the kick … … it’s got the distance … … NO GOOD !! … wide to the left … … the Falcons fail to widen their lead … the score remains … Atlanta 7 … and Dallas 3. Finally the Cowboys catch a break: Randy Johnson … complete to Gary Barnes …  for 5 yards … he’s hit … and fumbles the football …  at the Atlanta 25 … Warren Livingston recovers the fumble for Dallas at the 25 yard line of Atlanta, just 3:55 left in the 3rd.  The Cowboys fizzle out again settling for another field goal attempt: From the 19 … the football will be spotted at the Atlanta 26 yard line and the Cowboys are looking at a 26 yard field goal attempt … … … and here is Danny Villanueva’s field goal from 26 yards … … IT’S THROUGH THE UPRIGHTS … and the Cowboys cut into the Falcons lead … it’s now 7-6 for Atlanta.
